How to Enable Tracking Notification using ReachShip?

This guide explains how to enable tracking notifications using the ReachShip  Multi-Carrier Shipping Solution. Tracking notifications help keep your customers informed by automatically sending shipment tracking details once orders are shipped. 

 

By enabling this feature, you can improve transparency, reduce support queries, and deliver a better post-purchase experience.

Shipment tracking plays a critical role in the order fulfillment process. Customers expect timely updates about their orders, including shipment status and delivery progress. Tracking notifications help:

  • Reduce “Where is my order?” support tickets
  • Ensure transparency across multiple carriers and shipments

 

With ReachShip, tracking notifications are automatically triggered once the shipments for an order are created, ensuring customers receive complete and accurate tracking information without any manual effort.

Enable Tracking Notification Using ReachShip

To enable tracking notifications, first make sure your store is added to ReachShip. You can add a store by navigating to Settings → Stores in your ReachShip account.

 

While adding a store, make sure to provide:

  • Store Reply-To Email, the email address where customers can send replies to tracking notifications
  • Store Image/Banner used for branding and personalization in tracking emails

Please make sure to add your Store Reply-To Email (the email address where customers can respond) and Store Image while adding a store.

 

Custom Stores in ReachShip

ReachShip also supports adding Custom Stores for managing shipment tracking notifications more efficiently.

 

When creating a custom store, you will find two Store Type options:

  • ReachShip
  • Third Party Store

 

Select ReachShip if the orders and shipments are created directly from the ReachShip dashboard. Select Third Party Store if the shipments originate from external platforms.

 

While configuring a custom store, you will need to provide:

  • Store URL
  • Store Name
  • Store Reply-To Email
  • Store Image/Banner

 

Once all the required details are added, click Save Settings to complete the custom store setup.

Free Plan Users

Once your store is added, go to Settings → Shipper Settings → Tracking. Here, click on Enable Email Notification to activate tracking emails.

For Free plan users, tracking emails can only be sent using the Default ReachShip Email. These emails will be sent from track@reachship.com.

Once you click on the default option, a pop-up will appear. Click Confirm to proceed.

Once confirmed, email tracking notifications will be enabled successfully. You can disable this option at any time if needed by clicking on Deactivate

 

ReachShip also allows you to send test emails to verify how the tracking email appears to customers.

To send a test email, click on Send Test Email, enter the email address where you want to receive the test message, and then click Send Email

 

Please note that you can send up to 5 test emails per day.

Pro Plan Users

In addition to the default email option available in the Free plan, Pro plan users can enable Custom SMTP Configuration to send tracking emails through their own email server.

After selecting Custom SMTP Configuration, you can choose your email provider from Google, Outlook, or Other SMTP.

If you select Google or Outlook, a pop-up will appear asking you to choose your platform and store. Select the required details and click Connect to complete the setup.

If you choose Other SMTP, a configuration pop-up will appear. Here, enter your platform, store, SMTP host, port, username (email address), and password. Select the appropriate TLS/SSL option, then click Validate and Save to finish the setup.

Once configured, email tracking notifications will be enabled. You can also send test emails to preview the notification or disconnect the email account at any time.

To send a test email, click the email icon, enter the email address where you want to receive the test message, and click Send Email. 

 

Please note that you can send up to 5 test emails per day.

That’s it!

From now on, whenever a shipment is created, your customers will automatically receive a tracking email notification.

 

Email Templates

ReachShip also provides built-in Email Template management for shipment tracking notifications, allowing store owners to control how tracking emails are presented to customers.

 

To access this feature, navigate to:

Settings → Shipper Settings → Tracking → Email Templates

Here, you can manage, preview, and customize tracking email templates based on your subscription plan.

 

Free Plan Users

Free plan users get access to the Default Template – Free, which is a pre-designed system email template provided by ReachShip.

Using this template, tracking notifications will be automatically sent to customers whenever shipments are created. The template can also be previewed before use to check how the email appears to customers.

 

In addition, ReachShip allows Free plan users to send test emails to verify the email layout and shipment details before enabling them for live orders.

 

Please note that customization options are not available in the Free plan.

 

Pro Plan Users

Pro plan users receive additional flexibility and branding capabilities for tracking notifications.

 

Along with the Default Template – Free, Pro users also get access to the Default Template – Pro.

Additionally, Pro users can create fully customized email templates using the Create Custom Template option. This allows businesses to personalize tracking emails according to their own preference.
