How to Obtain your UPS Account Credentials?
This article provides step-by-step instructions to obtain your UPS account credentials to calculate UPS shipping rates, print labels, and track the shipment with ReachShip.
You need to follow the below steps to obtain your UPS credentials:
- Sign up/Sign in to the UPS Account
- Get your UPS Account Number
- Get UPS Client ID and Client Secret
Sign up/Sign in to the UPS Account
To get your UPS credentials, you’ll need to sign in to your existing UPS account, or, if you’re new to UPS, you can sign up for an account.
Note: Only customers in the US can register for a UPS account online. Customers outside the US need to contact UPS customer service to open a new account.
To register an account, go to the link – https://wwwapps.ups.com/doapp/signup
Fill in your basic details, including your name, email address, user ID, password, and phone number. After entering the details, enable to confirm the UPS agreement and click ‘Sign Up.’
Once you’ve successfully signed up, UPS will send a verification code to your email. Enter this code and select ‘Verify My Email’ to complete your UPS account setup.
Get your UPS Account Number
Sign in to your UPS account and go to the ‘Accounts and Payment’ section in the right sidebar. Add your payment details as prompted.
After you’ve successfully added your payment details, you should find your UPS Account Number on the ‘Accounts and Payment’ page or or it will be sent to you by email from UPS.
Get UPS Client ID and Client Secret
Login to your UPS account and then, go to the UPS Developer Site.
Start by creating an app to obtain these credentials by selecting ‘Add Apps.’
On the next page, choose “I want to integrate UPS technology with my business” from the dropdown labeled “I need API credentials because.” Then, select the UPS account you want to use from the second dropdown.
From the dropdown labeled “I need API credentials because”, select “I want to integrate UPS technology with my business”. From the second dropdown, select the UPS account that you would like to use.
After agreeing to the terms and conditions, click “Add Account.”
Now, fill in your contact information and click ‘Next’.
Note: You are unable to change this email once the credentials are created or you will lose access to your application.
Now, here you can define your application details, including the name, associated billing account number, and custom products. Then, click ‘Save’.
Once saved, your Client ID and Client Secret are generated.
Set up the Credentials in your ReachShip Account
Login to your ReachShip Account.
Navigate to ‘Shipping’ under ‘Settings’ in the left sidebar.
Select ‘UPS’ and fill in your UPS account name, client ID, client secret, and shipper account number. Now, click ‘Save and Validate Settings’.
