How to Obtain Your USPS Account Credentials?
This article provides step-by-step instructions to obtain your USPS account credentials to calculate USPS shipping rates, print labels, and track the shipment with ReachShip.
You need to follow the below steps to obtain your USPS credentials:
- Sign Up/Log In to your USPS Business Account
- Create App
- Get your USPS API Credentials
Finally, you can set up your USPS API credentials in your ReachShip.
Sign Up/Log In to your USPS Business Account
Sign in to your USPS Business Account or create a new one using the USPS Customer Onboarding Portal (COP). The COP will ensure that your USPS Business Account is configured for the USPS APIs.
Create App
Log in to the USPS Developer Portal using your USPS Business Account credentials. Once logged in, go to the Apps section in the menu and click Add App to create a new app.
Provide the following details:
- App Name (required)
- Callback URL (optional)
- Accept the Terms and Conditions and Privacy Policy
- Description (optional)
- API Product (required)
Finally, click Add App to complete the setup.
Get your USPS API Credentials
Select your app and go to the Credentials section to find your Client ID and Client Secret, which are needed for USPS integration with ReachShip and generating the OAuth Token.
Enter your Client ID here to authorize your app to access payment accounts, permits, CRIDs, MIDs, and subscriptions required by various USPS APIs.

Set up the Credentials in your ReachShip Account
Login to your ReachShip Account.
Navigate to ‘Shipping’ under ‘Settings’ in the left sidebar.
Select ‘USPS’ and fill in your USPS account name, client ID, client secret, CRID, MID, Manifest MID, and USPS account number, and select the account type. Now, click ‘Save and Validate Settings’.
