How to Obtain your FedEx Account Credentials?
This article provides step-by-step instructions for obtaining your FedEx account credentials, which you can use to calculate FedEx shipping rates, print labels, and track the shipment with ReachShip.
You need to follow the below steps to obtain your FedEx credentials:
- Sign up/Sign in to the FedEx account
- Create API project
- Get FedEx Client ID and Client Secret
Sign up/Sign in to the FedEx Account
To get your FedEx credentials, you’ll need to sign in to your existing FedEx account, or, if you’re new to FedEx, you can sign up for free.
After creating an account, you can create your organization or join your existing organization and add your shipping and billing account.
Create API Project
On the ‘My Projects Page’, go to the API tab and click on the ‘Create an API Project’ button.
Now, once you identify as a shipper, you can begin to create your project, which is a three-step process.
The first step is to ‘Select API(s) for your project’ and based on the API(s) you select, you may need to make some additional selections.
The next step is to provide project details, such as the name and shipping location.
Finally, review your project details and agree to the terms and conditions. Click ‘Create’ to complete the process, and your test credentials will be available in your new project.
Go to the Project Overview page and find your test credentials, including the API key, secret key, and shipping account(s), under the Test Key tab.
Get FedEx Client ID and Client Secret
Go to the Production Key tab to start moving your project to production by completing two steps.
In the Configure project step, you can rename your key as needed and review the account number that you selected in Step 1 of the project creation flow.
This is used to move your project to production. Once your project is live in production, you can add more accounts as needed.
Now, in the ‘Get Project Keys’ step, your production API key (Client ID) and secret key (Secret ID) will be shown. After that, click ‘Next’ to proceed.
Please Note: Certain APIs require shipping label certification to be used in the production environment. Complete the certification process for these APIs in your project.
